As I travel around the world and I minister in many churches I never finish to be saddened by the level of pride ands arrogance that exists in the church, among pastors and leaders. In a well known passage the Apostle Paul warns us of this danger when in Rom 12: 3 he says, "For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. " Hallelujah! Pride is thinking of yourself, your church, your ministry higher than what you ought and forgetting that Jesus, the King of kings, actually came to serve. He is the Servant King!
Yet many of us think of themselves as the best pastor, the best preacher, having the best and biggest church and so on. And the problem is that this has now also become a desire of our hearts! So we desire to have the biggest church in town, to have the best sanctuary in town, to have the best connections in town and so on. That is NOT God's will! Paul says that God has given to each one of us a different measure of faith and that means that if God has given you greater faith, greater influence, greater anointing is nothing to do with you! It's a gift of God! That means that if you want to be proud about something .... then the only thing you should be proud of is that God loves you and that He has blessed you!
